EPC – Engineering Project Coordinators

What are the EPC’s?
The Engineering Project Coordinators are a central point of contact for students to access technical support in labs and workshops in the School of Engineering. We are on hand to make appointments for students to meet and work with technicians for project work. We also have a good overview of how busy each space is, technician availability/working patterns.
Types of Bookings
Consultation/Tripartite (30 Minutes)
- Planning session to discuss practical lab needs with student and academic. Cost, feasibility, timeline, risk assessments etc.
- Students are encouraged to come with any research, designs, initial work
- For Tripartite meeting students will provide theirs and their supervisors availability and the EPC’s will book in a meeting slot with a technician
Inductions (30 minutes – 2 hours)
- General/basic inductions into particular machines, processes, equipment
- For students who missed classes or would like a refresher/more support
- Milling, Lathe, Welding, soldering
Project Support
- Specific support for projects
- Time and recurrence agreed with technician

- Information about your project
- The lab, workshop, name of technician you need support from
- What type of booking you need. Consultation, Induction, Project Support
- Your availability for the next 2 weeks
